UDC

What is UDC and why?

Union Digital Center is a state-of-the-art information and knowledge center (Telecentar), which is set up in the Union Council, which is aimed at ensuring the information service at the doorstep of the grassroots people. From this center, people of rural villages easily get life and livelihood information and necessary services in the environment known to their home.

On November 7, the Hon'ble Prime Minister inaugurated all the Union Digital Centers (UDC) across the country through a video conference from his office and former New Zealand Prime Minister Miss Helen Clark Bhola district in Bhola district. About 1 lakh people are receiving information and services from these centers a month. With the UDC easily, fast and low cost government and private services, the quality of life of the local people has begun to change.

The UDC journey begins with the 'Services at Dorssteps' (Services at Doorsteps) in front of the people. With the establishment of UDC, it is possible to create a free information flow in every field of society and state system, where people do not have to turn to door for Arceba, but the service is reaching the human being. The flow of free information is one of the prerequisites for the empowerment of the people. The establishment of digital centers in 5 union councils of the country has paved the way for information and services in the fastest time, including participation in the flow of free information of the rural people.
